Women & Women First is one of the locations in the show Portlandia. It is a not-for-profit feminist bookstore. It is owned and operated by Toni Rose and Candace Devereaux. Many people who enter the bookstore end up running out in distaste because of Candace and Toni's behavior. They sometimes use the phrase that they will, "Jump up on these tables, kicking everything off", when they get angry. This instance more than once when a man walked in to the bookstore and used the restroom, without noticing it was for customers only, and Candace used the phrase, and when during a journaling class, a woman walked in late and Candace used the phrase after she shared a story from her journal that outraged Candace.
Women & Women First was named after a phrase shouted by Toni as they evacuated a burning yacht, which they themselves had recently set on fire. Women and Women First is inspired by the Chicago bookstore Women and Children First.
It experienced a great increase in popularity after Portland was declared the most feminist city in America, becoming a destination on feminism-focused bus tours.
